HUCKLEBERRY AND BLUEBERRY

Vaccinium spp.

The Vaccinium genus includes more than 400 species worldwide, with at least eleven recorded in Idaho. In general, Vacciniums are often referred to as huckle-berries, blueberries, cranberries, and even bilberries, depending on the species. Nearly all are native here, except V. macrocarpon, which is the common cranberry, native to eastern North America.
